March / April Chapter Meeting

James Cox is the Air Traffic Control Manager at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, and we are fortunate to have him and several other controllers meeting with us at our Chapter 46 meeting on March 12, 2025 where they will provide us an opportunity to learn what controllers do, how they do it, and what they would like to hear from us as we fly. This is also an excellent chance for us to ask the controllers questions we may have about any aspect of interacting with ATC to make our on-the-air interactions with them brief, complete, helpful and easily understood. 

The format of this meeting will not be a usual presentation format, but instead, after a brief introduction, most of the meeting will focus on questions from the audience regarding anything related to air traffic control, flying techniques, procedures, communications, regulations, aerodynamics or any other aviation related questions asked or submitted by the audience.  If you have any questions - and what pilot doesn’t - this is a perfect opportunity to have your questions answered by these experts.

There are be 3 ways to ask your questions:

1. You can raise your hand at the meeting and ask a question.

2. You can write your question on an index card we will provide and leave it on the speaker’s table before the meeting, or pass it to the speakers during the meeting.

3. You can submit your question via email to me at tmx455@gmail.com up to two days before the meeting.  I will then de-identify your question and forward it on to the speakers for them to answer at the meeting.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 PM with pizza or subs and soda pop on Wednesday March 12, 2025 at Lancaster Airport (KBQR) 4343 Walden Ave, Lancaster, NY 14086 and the controller’s program will begin at 6:30 PM.
